This post is part of an ongoing blog hop hosted by Weekend Writing Warriors. Every Sunday, participating authors post eight sentences from a published work or even a WIP (work in progress). Then we hop to our fellow warriors’ blogs and check out all the fabulous fiction that’s happening! It's a great way to meet readers, writers, and your next favorite book! :)
Today's WeWriWa comes from The Cop, Donna's story in the Loving Her series.
Background on this snippet: Donna was jolted awake in the middle of the night by a distress call from Katie. At Katie's request, Donna and two male officers went to a seedy motel. Donna was just let into a room that's occupied by a middle-aged couple, and she's beginning to snoop around.
“Wow. For just two people you sure did pack a lot. Any particular reason why?”
She glared at the couple who sat speechless just a few feet away.
Donna continued to investigate, but she was beginning to doubt Katie’s distress call. As she made her way through the dingy room, she came upon a closed door. Light was shining through the bottom crack of the doorway.
Slowly, she placed her hand on the knob and opened it.
Hope you liked it! Happy reading! :)
