Thanksgiving
Good Turkey Day Thursday to one and all! I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.
I just want to take a minute to discuss what I most thankful for:
YOU! :)
Without my readers, my books and I would be nowhere.
Without my readers, I wouldn't be able to write for as many periodicals and publications as I do.
Without my readers, there's no way I could have taken 2nd place in the P & E Poll this year.
So, thank you! Thank you for buying my work, thank you for supporting my work, thank you for being a reader. Believe it or not, just reading my stories alone means more than words could ever describe.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving, one and all! :)

“Wow. For just two people you sure did pack a lot. Any particular reason why?”
She glared at the couple who sat speechless just a few feet away.
Donna continued to investigate, but she was beginning to doubt Katie’s distress call. As she made her way through the dingy room, she came upon a closed door. Light was shining through the bottom crack of the doorway.
Slowly, she placed her hand on the knob and opened it.

It is that time of year!
Happy Thursday, folks!
Hopefully everyone is staying warm, and isn't snowed in too badly.
Winter has come fast and hard (at least around here). With the snow and the cold, we set our sights on the holiday season.
This season, I have more books and stories than every. Print, e-book, audio - whichever you (or the readers in your life) prefer.
If you're looking to get a small sample of my writing, and get a sneak peek into the characters and world in Pianissimo, might I suggest, First Christmas.
First Christmas is a short story that I wrote just for the season, and just for you. It's the story of Corinne and Darryl's first Christmas in their new home. But it's also the story of Margaret and Agnes' Christmas as well. Same rich characters, same sweet sentiment. First Christmas gives you a good taste of my writing, and of Pianissimo (my newest full-length novel release).
It's a fun, happy, short story that is sure to bring a smile to your face. Go check it out at

Background on this snippet: Donna and Kirkpatrick have come upon an armed robbery in progress. They join up with several other cops. One police officer has found a way to get the group of robbers from behind, without being noticed. We are in the middle of a very tense, very scary stand-off.
He suddenly leaped forward, pushing the thief to the ground face down. He grabbed one of the thief’s arms and pulled it behind his back. As he did so, Donna raced forward with her gun aimed at one of the other thieves.
Suddenly, Donna felt an incredible pain in her back. She felt as though a great force pushing her forward. All the air escaped her lungs. Her eyes rolled up towards the sky as she lost all control of her body. She felt her body slam against the concrete in a tremendous impact before blackness enveloped her.

After a brief but scalding hot shower, she stared at herself through the steamed mirror. At first, her face was blurred by the condensation. As time progressed, her face became increasingly clearer. She was definitely a good cross section of her parents.
She had her mother’s curly blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Her jaw line and tall, lean, muscular build were definitely from her father. She could see them both reflected back at her, almost as if they were standing right behind her.

All About My Books
Happy Thursday, folks!
Today, I want to take the time to introduce and re-introduce you to my books.
Ready? Let's go!
Pianissimo:
Darryl and Corinne Richards purchase their first house. With Darryl’s army career coming to a close, they feel ready to settle down in Louisville, Kentucky. With impeccable timing, Darryl is sent on one final tour, leaving Corinne to live in this new house and new city alone.
Overwhelmed, Corinne becomes reclusive, living a quiet, boring life with her cats as she adjusts to her new surroundings. The problem is: someone or some thing does not want her life to be either quiet or boring. And then there’s the creepy piano in the basement…
There is more to that creepy, dilapidated piano and her new home than Corinne could ever imagine. Through highs and lows, twists and turns, she begins to understand that even the most softly played music is powerful – and that even soft realizations and quietly subtle changes can have a profound effect.
Carol is forced to face the demons of her past as well as begin to face life without Alex. Struggling to make sense of it all, Carol experiences her new life and all of the highs and lows that come with that life.
turrent scope as a sniper for the Detroit PD's SWAT Team.
A fateful call sends Joe and his team deep into the Detroit
Ghetto; and reminds him that there is more to life than what's on the
other end of his gun.
Refusing to take no for an answer, Tony eventually kidnaps her and keeps her as his prisoner in a cabin well hidden in the woods.
Lareina is held hostage for over two weeks. The only thing keeping her alive is her determination and resourcefulness. Lareina uses her wits and knowledge of algebra to send Sandy and her family text messages in order to help them to find her. Sandy; Lareina's family; her professor from UCLA, and a lonely but dedicated Missing Persons policeman named Marcus Raymer work night and day to try to save Lareina. She is held hostage, and raped and tortured for days on end. Will they be able to get to her before it’s too late?

During her tumultuous life, Carol discovers that she has acquired AIDS as a result of a childhood transfusion from the dark period of time before AIDS was widely known... or understood, not even by the medical profession. Now, the two women face even more obstacles, prejudice, and a strange, new life as AIDS patients. Carol learns just how much her chaotic past has affected her, and how she can never really escape it, even as she tries to move on with her life. An unexpected event creates even more pain and tragedy in Carol's life, and causes her to wonder about the meaning of and purpose of her own life... or if there is any purpose at all...
Impeccable:
Carol – abandoned - waiting... for what, she couldn’t know. She couldn’t see that there was more life waiting for her.

A fateful call sends Joe and his team deep into the Detroit
Ghetto; and reminds him that there is more to life than what's on the
other end of his gun.
Unbreakable Hostage:
A gripping suspense novel, it is the story of Lareina Oliveira: a Ph. D. student at UCLA, studying algebra. She has a seemingly ordinary life. Lareina works as a teacher in addition to her Ph. D. studies. She has wonderfully close relationships with her family and her roommate, Sandy. Her life is a rather quiet one, but Lareina is very happy with things as they are.
School life seems normal, though one of her classmates, Tony Covelli, is captivated by Lareina and pursues her throughout the semester. Repeatedly, Lareina turns Tony down and focuses more on her private life.

Donna knelt down in front of the grave, placing the bouquet of flowers gently down in front of the headstone. “Happy Father’s Day, Dad.” She said quietly. “This sucks, ya know. Father’s Day without you. What’s the point?” Her voice began to tremble. “I mean, what’s a girl supposed to do on Father’s Day without her father?”
