A to Z II - Y is for You/Yours

Holy crow, kids! It's May 30th! Do you know what that means? It means we're up to the letter y in my personal A to Z challenge! Y is for you or yours.

Huh?

Trajectory is for you. It's yours. I wrote it for you. Trajectory is yours.

This is your story.

This is my gift to you.

A story of love.

A story of fear.

A story of adrenaline and action.

A story of identity.

A story of friendship.

A story of solitude.

A story of camaraderie.

A story of betrayal.

A story of selfishness.

A story of selflessness and giving.

A story of personal growth.

A story of death.

A story of life - Joe's life.

Trajectory is for you.

Trajectory is yours.

A to Z Challenge Y is for Yenning/Yearning

It's time for another A to Z Challenge! This year, I want to tell you about a story that is currently a WIP (work in progress). It's the story I'm writing in honor of my baby lovebird, Robert. It's a fantasy story, but it's really a story about emotional healing. So let's examine it by going through the alphabet!

Y is for yenning or yearning. They mean the same thing, and they both start with y, so pick whichever one you prefer.

The truth of the matter is, I began writing Robert's story immediately after he died because I was yearning to still have him in my life. I needed some way to stay connected to him. I was yenning to be with him in any capacity I could find, and writing was the best media for that bond to remain.

Everyone mourns differently. My mourning is that I search for ways to hold onto things that connect me to that person in someway. Via tattoos, possessions, whatever I can. Losing Robert was no different. I just yearned to have things to remind me of him, to maintain my bond with him. I wrote out of that yearning, and I continue to do so.

Please don't miss the final post tomorrow! We've finally hit the letter z! You don't want to miss it!

2015 A to Z Challenge: Pianissimo - Day 25 (Y)

For the third consecutive year, I am participating in the A to Z blog challenge.
http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/

This year, we're going to go through my latest full-length novel, Pianissimo.

This is the twenty fifth day of our challenge, so we are up to the letter Y. Y is for Yes.

Yes. Yes to this story. Yes to these characters. Yes to Pianissimo.

This is a story unlike any I've ever written before. There were challenges as well as successes. There were lessons and rewards in writing a book like this.

There were times I doubted myself. There were times I was ready to give up. There were times where I shook my head and wondered if this was even feasible.

Thankfully, neither Agnes, nor Margaret, nor Corinne would let me abandon ship. Though sometimes quietly, they just kept chanting, "yes."

With them as my cheerleaders, I continued to type and type and type. I researched, I studied, I created. The further along I got, the louder the cheers were.

After two years of working on this, Pianissimo came into being. Yes. Yes it was meant to be written. Yes it was written. Yes it is a story I can be proud of.

Yes is a very powerful word, and yes is the word for Pianissimo.

A to Z '14 - Youth

For this year's A to Z Challenge, I am honoring my grandfather who passed away on April 3, 2013.

Y is for Youth.

You're probably asking what a 93 year old man could have ever taught me about youth.

He taught me a lot, actually.

He taught me that youth is not something you lose with age.

He still loved the same movies and same slapstick comedy that he adored as a child.

His sense of humor and ability to laugh were one of they keys to his longevity.

He remained as active as he could. Age gave him a back surgery and two bad knees, but he continued to drive (fairly well, all thing considered), go to church and keep himself relatively busy. He didn't let his age keep him down or use it as an excuse to NOT do things.

My grandfather lived life as fully as he could at every age.

Even at 93 laying in the hospital bed, I could see the little boy behind his blue eyes.

Youth is not restricted to age. It is only restricted if you allow it to be.

Y is for Youth.

Y: You

You.

Yes, you! Tell me about you. Who are you? What do you like? What are your creative endeavors?

Which of these blogs have appealed to you? I think I've done more than enough "talking" this month. As a reader and fellow appreciator of the arts, tell me what you think, what you feel. This time the spot light is on YOU!!! :)

Did you like my blog about gardening?

Perhaps you hated my blog about poetry.

What did you think?

What did you like?

What didn't you like?

Why?

Let me get to know YOU! ;)
