Holy crow, kids! It's May 30th! Do you know what that means? It means we're up to the letter y in my personal A to Z challenge! Y is for you or yours.

Huh?

Trajectory is for you. It's yours. I wrote it for you. Trajectory is yours.

This is my gift to you.

A story of love.

A story of fear.

A story of adrenaline and action.

A story of identity.

A story of friendship.

A story of solitude.

A story of camaraderie.

A story of betrayal.

A story of selfishness.

A story of selflessness and giving.

A story of personal growth.

A story of death.

A story of life - Joe's life.

Trajectory is for you.

Trajectory is yours.

A to Z II - R is for Reason/Rationality

Good Saturday morning! It is time for another letter in my personal A to Z challenge. Today being the eighteenth day of the challenge, the letter for the day is the letter r. R stands for reason or rationality.

I could have gone with romance, sure. Since there is the complex romance between Joe and Claudette. There is even the unhealthy and unrequited romance between Michael and Joe.

Reason and rationality are much more applicable, though.

Joe is not an emotional guy. Okay, that's not true. He is. He's very sentimental. If he wasn't emotional, he wouldn't be so connected to Claudette still. However, he is still such a methodical, calculating, rational guy.

Look at his job. He has to be objective 100% of the time. Reason and being rational must dictate every single thing he does behind the scope. He can't let an feeling or a thought or even a hunch affect what he sees, says or does. One assumption, one irrational thought could endanger the lives of many people. Reason must win.

Even in his relationships with Claudette and Pete, Joe is still very rational. The only time he lets his guard down is when he pities Michael, and that sympathy comes back and bites him big time. It is only when he is calm, reasonable and rational that things go well for Joe.

So yes, r is for reason and rationality.

A to Z II - K is for Karma

It's another day, which means it's time for another letter in my personal A to Z challenge. Today, we shall explore the letter k, which I will attribute to the word karma.

Karma is an interesting choice of words considering what Joe does for a job. It makes you wonder what kind of karma he has or deserves.

Does he deserves what he gets from Michael? Is that his karma, his payback from having shot and killed people in the past? Or is it completely unrelated/irrelevant?

What about Michael? Does he get his karma?

Even moreso, what about Pete? Does he really deserve what comes to him? Is that his karma from something? Is it justified?

Karma is something that we talk about quite a bit in our society today. We talk about people getting what they deserve. People getting what's coming to them. In a story like Trajectory, we see people who have a lot of karma coming to them. As we read the story and see what happens, we have to wonder, is this what they deserve? Is this truly their karma?

Tell me after you read it if you think it is

A to Z II - J is for Joe

Another day, another letter! Today's letter is the letter j. J is for Joe.

What to say about Joe?

There is so much.

Without Joe, there is no Trajectory.

Joe Davis is a regular guy, and yet, he is anything but ordinary.

I love him. Now granted, I do love all of my characters. There is something special about Joe, though. For someone as tough as he is, his vulnerability is so endearing to me. He is so human, and I love that. He has depth, he has emotion. He's just awesome. I'm not just saying that because he's mine. If Trajectory was another person's book, I would still be madly in love with him. He's just a wonderful character. He's a great person, plain and simple.

I love his complexities, and his simplicity.

I love him and Claudette. I love them together; I love his love for her. I love the nature of their relationship. I love them.

Trajectory is my first story with a male lead, and also my first bisexual lead. I think Joe handles that beautifully. He is an excellent lead, regardless of gender. I think his bisexuality is a topic that is well discussed throughout the story - and in the end, he gets the result he could only have dreamed of.

So today is for j, today is for Joe. Joe is truly a wonderful man. I am honored to tell his story.

A to Z II - G is for Gravity

Wow! We are one week in in my personal A to Z challenge, which brings us to the letter g! G is for gravity.

Trajectory is a rather dark and very serious story. There's a lot of gravity to it.

There's the gravity of Joe's job.

There's the gravity of Joe's relationship with Claudette.

There's the gravity of Joe's relationship with Michael.

There's the gravity of Joe's relationship with Pete.

This is one story with A LOT of gravity.

A to Z Challenge - J is for Justice

It's time for another A to Z Challenge! This year, I want to tell you about a story that is currently a WIP (work in progress). It's the story I'm writing in honor of my baby lovebird, Robert. It's a fantasy story, but it's really a story about emotional healing. So let's examine it by going through the alphabet!

J is our letter today.

J stands for justice.

You might be wondering where and how justice would play into a story like this, one of emotional healing.

I don't want to give any spoilers, obviously. While it may not be our standard definition of justice, there is justice to be found in the story. Take this definition from Google: "1. just behavior or treatment. 'a concern for justice, peace, and genuine respect for people.' synonyms: fairness, justness, fair play, fair-mindedness, equity, evenhandedness, impartiality, objectivity, neutrality, disinterestedness, honesty, righteousness, morals, morality. 'I appealed to his sense of justice.'"

So that fits. But there is also a sense of justice served, if you will. After all, he does "defeat" the bad guy in a way that no one has before. In a way that serves justice for Emmalee, and countless others.

Justice, albeit an unusual element in a story of emotional healing, is a powerful element in the story of The Good Pirate, Robert.

Check back tomorrow as we explore the letter k!

A to Z Challenge - F is for Feelings

It's time for another A to Z Challenge! This year, I want to tell you about a story that is currently a WIP (work in progress). It's the story I'm writing in honor of my baby lovebird, Robert. It's a fantasy story, but it's really a story about emotional healing. So let's examine it by going through the alphabet!

The letter f stands for feelings.

The story of The Good Pirate, Robert is one that is very emotionally driven. It was my sadness in his death that led to me to start to write the story. The message of the story is about emotional healing. So feelings are the foundation of this book.

Now feelings and emotions are a part of any story, that's true. For me, and for this story, though, they are paramount, though. Without feelings, this story would not and could not exist. You can't have emotional healing without emotions, right?

The good thing about this, is that it's not all bad feelings. Yes, there is some sadness. There's also joy, peace, excitement and wonderment...Robert's story does not fall flat emotionally. Rather, it guides us through a myriad of emotions, bringing us to a wonderful place in the end.

Sometimes feelings create the best story lines.

Come on back tomorrow for more A to Z fun!
