Good morning, guys! Happy April!
Today, I am THRILLED to announce that we officially begin our first on-line book discussion.
This blog will be about the first story in Loving Her.
Please answer via blog comments, and go into as much thought and detail as you like, as I would like to see these discussions get deep and interesting ;)
1) How do Katie and Linda meet?
2) How does "the gang" feel about Linda's relationship with Katie?
3) What is your perception/are your thoughts on Katie's relationship with her parents and the "incident" that occurs between them, Linda & Katie?
4) Who knocked on Linda's door so late at night?
5) What are your overall thoughts & feelings on this story? Did you like it? Why or why not? What aspects of the story did you like the most and the least, and why?
These are rather general, but I'd like to at least get the conversation started, and then we can get into some juicy stuff ;) Enjoy!!! :)
I can't wait to see what everyone has to say, so let's just jump right in!!! :)

I am not looking at the book as I write these answers, so I hope I have them correct -
1) How do Katie and Linda meet?
Katie and Linda meet when this terrific writer puts them together in this great book called Loving Her...
ok, seriously, Katie & Linda meet at a pizzeria (? I think, I know it is some kind of eaterie) where Katie has a job.
2) How does "the gang" feel about Linda's relationship with Katie?
While they are happy that Linda has met someone she clearly cares about, I think their antennae go up when they hear how strict Katie's parents are and how she sort of hides the truth.
3) What is your perception/are your thoughts on Katie's relationship with her parents and the "incident" that occurs between them, Linda & Katie?
It's kind of boggling that Katie was so scared of her parents that she had to pretend to live up to their expectations. There is also a lot more going on and animosity as comes out when Katie yells at her mother after the tuition snafu & accuses her of jealousy.
Considering how far they went and how cruel Katie's parents were, I wonder how abusive they were as Katie was growing up - perhaps withholding love if they were disappointed, etc.
4) Who knocked on Linda's door so late at night?
Donna brought Katie home to Linda.
5) What are your overall thoughts & feelings on this story? Did you like it? Why or why not? What aspects of the story did you like the most and the least, and why?
As I said, it was rather boggling and disturbing that Katie should have feared her parents so much to hide her true self like she did. Unfortunately that type of thing goes on far too often and I am thankful enough to say I really don't understand that kind of fear.
