Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History

We've all seen the bumper stickers that tell us that well behaved women rarely make history. As a history nerd, I can attest to the fact that this statement is very true.




Molly Pitcher, Loretta Velazquez, Marie Curie, Susan B. Anthony, and Harriet Tubman are just a few examples of women who broke the rules. They defied social rules and did what their hearts told them to do.





I try to make my female characters follow in these legendary footsteps.





All of the women in Loving Her work in a field that they love. None took jobs because they were obligatory and none of them listen to what society tells them they are supposed to be.







Lareina in Unbreakable Hostage is strong and intelligent. She's a fighter. She's not some weak, demure female. She's one tough cookie. She refuses to let anyone get in her way.






Carol and Alex in Imperfect are two women who definitely fall into this category. Both are individualistic.

They both set career goals for themselves. They work hard and march to the beat of their own drummers. They refuse to be wall flowers.





Bold women have blazed the trails for people like me. I want to honor them. I want to show the world that gender does not have an impact on our world. People do. My characters are examples of the people we can all be, regardless of what color, gender, religion, orientation we are.



Let's all stop behaving badly. We could all have a tremendous impact on our world!
