Well, I must say that Imperfect is coming along much better than I had originally anticipated. This is by no means an easy book to write, and I just wasn't sure if I had the talent, guts or energy to do this.

I'll tell ya, it's flowing very nicely, though. I'm actually really proud of what I have so far. I think this book is going to touch so many people in so many ways. I'm looking forward to it's release later this year!! :)

Don't forget, Imperfect isn't all I've got. My first book, Loving Her is out NOW. It's available in print, in e-book AND Kindle forms! It's a series of intertwined short stories about a group of friends and lovers who face day-to-day obstacles, as well as larger problems like severe prejudice. Each one of this characters is a representation of me, in one way or another. My soul lives in each one of them. It's really a unique book, and it's an easy read. When Writing is Personal (and Emotional)

So, I finished a BIG chapter in Imperfect today. Without spoiling it, Imperfect is a very emotional book, and death is a subject that comes up often. This chapter was one of many that addressed death.

Oddly enough, I felt saddened when it was done. One of these characters who has been haunting was put to rest. It was as real for me as it is in the book.

I openly admit that my characters haunt me and become an integral part of my life until their story is told. I guess it shouldn't be all that surprising that I was touched by this particular loss.

I write with emotion, and I pray that my emotion oozes from the words and penetrates the hearts of my readers. I want you all to feel what I have felt today. I want this book to touch you as deeply as it's touching me.

I think I'm writing Imperfect because it's a story that NEEDS to be told. There are topics and emotions that need to be addressed; that you as my reader(s) need to feel. I pray that my writing skills are enough to truly convey the story and the emotions.

I'm going to take today's emotional event as a good sign. Imperfect won't be out for a while, but the characters in Loving Her are just as real, and the emotions are just as potent. I challenge each and every one of you to read these stories; to open yourself up to the people, and the emotions. Let these stories touch your heart. All of my books are here to make you think & feel. It's time that you challenged yourself, and allowed yourself to experience those thoughts & feelings :)

Hello, Blogger world!! :)

As some of you might remember, I said that I wanted to do some on-line book discussions and also "Ask the Author" days. Well, I've decided to get that going.

On February 2, I will be posting my book discussion questions. I'd love to see your answers & comments as comments. We're going to do this story by story so 2/2 will be the first story in Loving Her - Katie & Linda's story. Normally, it would be on the first of each month, BUT the first is my grandmother's birthday AND the Super Bowl. I can only handle so much in one day ;) LOL. So, we'll start off 2/2.

In the meanwhile, I will begin taking questions for the "Ask the Author" day, which will be 2/15 (and the 15th of every month thereafter). So, you have up until 2/14 to send in any questions you may have for me as a writer, about Loving Her, about my up-coming book, Imperfect, and so on. I will post all the questions and the answers in a blog & bulletin :)
